I get where you guys are coming from. But, I will be massively disappointed if they don't finish this series out.

They've overcome a lot and this is a run that I'll remember fondly forever. It's produced some moments of pure ecstasy that sports rarely do. The game 7 double OT winner. Game 2 of the SCF OT winner. The entire 3rd period of Game 5 against the Jets. Schwarzy's HT in Game 6. Etc etc etc. But, none of it really matters without a cup.

How many times does Pujols' homerun against Lidge get dinged points in meaningfulness because they didn't win the series? Basically every time it gets brought up. So...just win it all to make all the moments so far this year that much more meaningful. And, while they're at it, do it in style in St Louis.

Brett Hull with an emotional support chinchilla? YES.

It blows my mind that that dude snuck a [expletive] chincnilla into the stadium and likely kept it in his coat all damn game. And, that the chinchilla was calm enough to just hang out there.

Power play advantage for Bruins still looms large. Straight up, its been looking pretty even all series.

Observational, seems like the Blues really had to work and put a lot of sustained pressure to get rebound chances off Ruusk. And work harder in general for their goals/wins.

Granted my perspective is paranoid and skewed, but seems like Boston has had a few more "whew, that could easily been a goal" type chances than the Blues. Who gets the breaks or half inch this-away will matter.
And this probably more fan based superstition, but I am glad this next game is back to Boston. Must win for both teams, but a must-er win for Boston, maybe they feel the pressure.

I saw a crazy stat today.

When a series is at 1-1 in a best of 7, the team that wins game 3 wins the series 78.2% of the time. Actually, saw that a few days ago. But, today saw a stat that when a series is 2-2 in a best of 7, the team that wins game 5 only wins the series 72% of the time. I'd have guessed that % would have gone up, not down.

I would have thought that too. Maybe it's because 3/5 (60%) is easier than 2/3 (66%) statistically? Weird.

Def agree on some points AW. This run will be forever cemented in stl history if they win the cup. It will eventually be forgotten if they don't.

But I'm just enjoying the hell out of the ride right now. Boston is a hell of a team. Winning 2 of 3 is doable, but daunting.

The Blues are a very good team too.

Just win on Thursday. Worry about the rest later.

FiveThirtyEight with another short article on the Blues, saying that they have "dominated" the Final... by citing that the Blues, aside from game 1 and including game 3, have won the possession battle handily (using corsi).

Not winning the Cup this series, when we're 2 wins away, would devastate me. My age is getting up there, & I'd always wanted to see the Blues raise the Cup during my lifetime, since I was a kid rooting on Garry Unger in the early 70's. Many other teams had reached the Final, without returning for years....so we cannot assume we'll get there again very soon. We need to take this.

Tangent: after shooting off fireworks and listening to a few huzzahs coming from the hood. I checked out post-game coverage. The local nbc channel which had the game cut to KSDK. It was woeful. Interviewing Cam Jansen standing right in front of 20 not very cool dudes yelling. A bunch of back-to-yous that just hung there
FSMW -had the pro layout -not sure if they were set up in BP village but it looked good and coherent, and you still got to enjoy the celebration.

NBC sports channel -the Patrick Sharp/Roenick deal . I liked that one the best. The analysis is good, and enjoy the non-homer perspective and reviews of the game/crowd- while getting a taste of the fun mayhem on the streets. Apparantly ex-blackhawk Sharp got some razzing from crowd
