I am so accustomed to the Blues losing must-win games. I thought we were done after giving up the shorty. Not this year.
Best game the Blues have played in this series. Plenty of heart attack moments for sure, but excellent puck possession all game long. Other than my gripe on some lazy clears.

Edmundson had some give aways in his own zone. If they’re leaving Gunnarson in, id rather see Edmundson sat for Dunn but how can you argue with tonight? Great game all around except the [expletive] pp

I had umpteen texts saying the same thing. Basically lost all momentum. Tie game. One goal for Boston probably wins game and gets them 3-1.Popeye_Card wrote:To hold that kind of sustained pressure, then draw the penalty, only to turn right around and give up a shorty...that hurt somewhere deep in my soul.
But good to know that Boston can score better than us on our power play too.
But blues bounced right back. After the penalty was over at least they got back to controlling the game.

Even if the Blues lose this series this is the most resilient team they've ever had since I've been watching. Nothing gets these guys down and keeps them from rebounding from tough breaks/losses.
I don't think the Bruins will be as ground down as the Stars/Sharks/Jets were, but they have several smaller defensemen who have taken a pounding. In game 5-7 of the playoffs the Blues are 6-1.

WWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT TO SEE THE BLUES WIN A STANLEY CUP GAME LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG, the shorty against. The Blues controlled play so damn long. We were inches away from scoring a shorty but it slides just wide and Binny is inches away from catching he shg against. My faith waivered. Then the 3rd is looking good, we are controlling play. Came out to play... but we get that penalty against, and there is a TV timeout so they are clearing the ice, so the Bruins get clean ice for a pp. I told my Dad, "This is the series right here." Then we kill it off, and take the lead. Then, with the lead, we continue to pressure (!!!). We turtled slightly, not taking high risk chances deep in Boston's end, but sustained some offensive pressure, and beat them up in the neutral zone. Then Schenner with the nice steal for the ENG... but here is the kicker...
THEY SHOW SCOTT BAKULA ON THE SCREEN AND THE BLUES SCORE THEIR 3RD GOAL RIGHT AFTER! PEOPLE, SCOTT BAKULA IS HERE TO RIGHT A WRONG AND BRING THE BLUES THEIR FIRST CUP BEFORE HE CAN LEAP!

If Chara is out next game, that's a big advantage

Also I could not have been more wrong about who to replace Sunny with in Game 3. Sanford has been one of the best Blues forwards in the two games he played.

Wow, I hadn’t come to that realization yet. Shows how well the Blues have been able to make adjustments. Most of these wins have been blowouts too.albertmvpujols wrote:In game 5-7 of the playoffs the Blues are 6-1.
