Regarding who is picking who:

Vegas has the series odds at
Bruins -155
Blues +135

which isn't all that crazy and pegs the blues as somewhat slight underdogs. Pretty close line to the Houston Astros (Miley) +130 v Red Sox (Sale)-150 today for example.

At work it makes it tough to see where the money's going vs where the picks are going which is the really important information. I'll update when I can, but it opened +140v-160 so slightly more money has come in on the blues hence the line change. Again, that means nothing though if 80% of the people are picking the blues and the line has barely moved.

Sportsbooks are facing their second straight Stanley Cup sweat.

Last year, as the expansion Vegas Golden Knights reached the Stanley Cup Final, Nevada bookmakers found themselves rooting against the hometown squad to avoid a multi-seven-figure loss. This year, they're sweating the upstart St. Louis Blues, who have authored one of the greatest in-season turnarounds in recent memory, going from 300-1 longshots in January to Stanley Cup finalists in May.

"We're actually worse [on the Blues] than what the Knights would have been," Bill Sattler, director of specialty games for Caesars Entertainment, said, adding that a St. Louis victory over the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final would cost the sportsbook a net loss of "mid-six figures" on their odds to win the Stanley Cup.

Bookmakers escaped when the Knights lost to the Washington Capitals in last year's Stanley Cup Final and are hoping for another Boston title this year.

I’m a bit irked that Ralston Purina is sponsoring that image, after what they did to the Blues.

Here's a crazy thought, but in US team sports history, all of the top few instances of an extreme longshot (by Vegas lines at an important inflection point in the season) winning a title go under or around the Arch.

2011 Cards, like 4-5 games behind ATL with a couple weeks to play, sneak in to the playoffs then The Freese Game happens and they win. Their odds to win the Series two weeks before the season ended had to be awful.

1987 Twins go from 70 wins the year before to nearly 100 wins and the title, the odds on them have to have been stacked against them to open the year.

Rams improbably going 13-3 under Kurt Who? and beating the Pats in the Super Bowl must have had one of the worst lines in the NFL to open a season after Green went down in the preseason.

Miracle Mets probably belong in there, Leicester City in the EPL a few years ago if we go international, the Miracle on Ice if we include Olympic sports.

The Rams didn’t beat the Pats in the Super Bowl
