Glad they didn’t scratch Perron, as I had suggested.

Agreed that it is mind-boggling that the refs missed the call as the play happened. The only excuse I could see is if the closest ref’s view was blocked by the Blues dman. But another should have seen it and blown the play dead.

Blues really only have themselves to blame after blowing the lead. Though they played a great game, considering they were rolling 5 D most of the night, creating pairing mismatches and guys having to play on their off side.

This just really sucks. Blues had a 2-1 series lead in their grasp. Now they have to go 3-1 to advance. That’s a tough hill to climb.

Blowing the lead was a gut punch to everyone, but spirits were still generally high going into OT. Everyone recognized the hand pass immediately. Chants of “hand pass!”, “refs you suck!”, yadda yadda. Our seats were right above the refs exit from the ice, so we were having to dodge flying beer bottles and cups on our way out.

losing Dunn is gonna hurt, not gonna lie

already had a bad feeling, then realizing he's prob not back at all these playoffs, and it's gonna be tough

and Bortuzzo barely played from the 3rd period on (think I heard 2 minutes in the 3rd), so they were basically rolling with 4 D-men

The one thing i'll give this team credit for is that they have responded to adversity this season in ways i've never seen the Blues do before. There have been so many "welp, that's the season" moments this year that the team has overcome.

I'm sure it's just a plot for me to find yet another way to have hope in this team that can be brutally stabbed out of me, but until it happens i'm clinging onto it.

I think the Blues absolutely dominate game 4 and 5 and come back home with a 3-2 lead. Then we'll promptly lose game 6 by a score of like 9-2 and go to a nail biting game 7 that will either win in a shocking fashion or lose in utter disappointment.

I’m surprisingly calm about the loss, because I am the same way—I have faith in this year’s team to adapt and overcome. But thinking about having to go 3-1 against a very good team...damn it we were so close to having a huge advantage.

I know it was a hand pass, and this isn't giving the officials a pass, but the Blues blew that game on their own. Not scoring an ENG, multiple icings, not finishing good scoring chances in the 3rd, giving up a goal in the last minute of regulation etc. Bad calls happen. They are outside of your control. Focus on what you can control. (for the Blues, obviously I can't control any of this)

The 30 year fan in me thinks, "series over, we aren't winning 3 before they win 2" but, on the other hand, they just need to win tomorrow. None of this, "gotta go 3-1" stuff (no offense intended, its a true statement, but the competitor in me thinks differently) Worry about game 5 and others after game 4. They have to win a game tomorrow. That's all. No point in worrying about the rest right now.

That right there was the most Blues thing so far these playoffs.

Why the [expletive] can't they get an empty netter?

To hell with the stats that icing is the better play when there is an empty net on one end - chip the [expletive] puck out, and take some damn time off the clock!

Maybe I need to go back and watch, but I felt they were doing a decent job on the empty net kill keeping the puck around the perimeter and being able to chip up and into center ice. Ringing that empty net chance off the post was hugely unfortunate. Game of millimeters.

I'm still not sure what Binnington was doing position-wise after the hand pass. If he just stays square he has the angle blocked pretty well.
