I just got asked to fill in with some friends at softball tonight. I hope this goes as well as the last time I missed the start of a Blues playoff game because of softball. It might have been really stressful for everybody else 8 days ago but since I only got to see the last five minutes with Maroon scoring the game winner in the end, it was pretty awesome.

I got home to see a big string of texts from friends who were freaking out with every goal (and subsequent tying goal) that night and they were a lot more worn out than me after my old butt played 10 innings of softball (rain storm caused our second game to be called in the middle).

I can’t seem to settle on what superstitions are working. So I hope I’m doing the right things today.

It is weird. For the Cardinals, I just presume everything will go right in game 7’s, despite many times when they go horribly wrong (85, 87, 96, 2012, etc.). For the Blues I just expect the worst. I have been almost more calm going into these elimination games than I have been going into game 5’s.

Couple things to my very untrained, uneducated, unprofessional eye. Blues need to get off to a hot start again. Bishop has given up some early goals. Need to get one tonight to keep the crowd in it. Need to not get dominated in the 2nd period, again. Seems like they've lost every 2nd period in this series. Get it to the 3rd and dominate.

Be nice if Vladdy had a big game along with Schwartz or Sundqvist.

That said, I don't care how it happens, just win.

I have my Blues t-shirt all fresh and ready for me to put it on tonight.

The Blues have not lost this post season when I have worn this shirt. It must be freshly washed or it doesn't work.
