Luke Voit went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in the Yankees' 5-1 win over the Athletics on Tuesday.
Voit has gone deep in three consecutive games and seven times since August 24. The 27-year-old slugger swatted a solo shot, his eighth of the year, off Athletics reliever Fernando Rodney in the eighth inning. He's hitting an absurd .322 (19-for-59) with seven dingers and 15 RBI in 19 games since being acquired by the Yankees at the trade deadline.

Stephen Piscotty went 1-for-2 with a solo homer in the Athletics' 5-1 loss to the Yankees on Tuesday.
Piscotty extended his hit streak to seven games, connecting on a 92-mph heater from Yankees starter J.A. Happ and launching a 408-foot solo homer to center field in the second inning. He accounted for all of the Athletics' offense in this one as Happ and a trio of relievers combined on a two-hitter. The 27-year-old outfielder is up to 22 homers on the year, matching his previous career-high, established back in 2016 with St. Louis.
Sep 5 - 2:10 AM

David Freese went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a pair of RBI in the Dodgers' win over the Mets on Tuesday.
Freese crushed his first homer in a Dodger uniform, unloading on a 3-2 pitch from Mets starter Jason Vargas in the fourth inning. The veteran lefty-masher also tacked on an RBI double, easily plating speedster Tim Locastro from second base, versus reliever Corey Oswalt in the seventh. The 35-year-old brings plenty of postseason experience to the table and looks like he's going to be an extremely valuable pinch-hitting specialist in October.

I wonder why we didn't get Freese? We love nostalgia, and surely he could replace someone on this roster for the stretch run. Certainly he is better than Wisdom, despite Wisdom's home runs.

Well, he essentially asked to be traded due to nerves/pressure playing in St. Louis. He wouldn't have had 10-5 rights in Pittsburgh, so he couldn't have blocked the trade if it were going to have happened, but I'm guessing he'll never play for St. Louis again. Unless it's like one of those sign-for-a-day-to-retire-a-Cardinal PR moves.

Link? I don't remember him asking to be traded. All I can find is that Mo said "there had to be lots of pressure" but that's GM speak to make trading a beloved player positive.
