Lance Lynn was brilliant in his first start with the Yankees on Monday, tossing 7 2/3 scoreless innings against the White Sox as part of a 7-0 victory.
Lynn tossed 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief in his Yankees debut last Wednesday, but he was even better on Monday. The veteran right-hander gave up just two hits (both of them singles) and walked one while matching a season-high with nine strikeouts. He retired 19 consecutive batters at one point. Lynn wasn’t great prior to the trade and the White Sox are a bad offense, but he’s at least looking like a healthy upgrade from Sonny Gray right now.

Ankiel is my age. I remember his rookie season so well, he was this phenom ace in the making. Now he's the old man trying to fight his way back in. Anyway, I'm old now, that's the point of this post.
