Re: Former Cardinals Watch
I watched the As and Rockies at Coors tonight.
Nick Martini. Remember him? 7th rounder from 2011. Finally made his way on to a major league squad at 28 years old. I think he’s a 5th OF.
Adam Ottavino. He’s only a reliever but he does his job very well. He was opening at-bats with sliders for strikes. I was impressed. Seemed to have ice in his veins.
A side note. If you ever want a reminder about the collective passion and intelligence of the cardinal fanbase, go to a Rockies home game. Probably 1/4 seats empty. Booing their struggling reliever. Not cheering until reminded by the big screen. Leaving in droves in the 8th while only being up 2 runs.

I don’t think it’s ceremonial.

Re: Former Cardinals Watch
If it was just ceremonial it wouldn't be a minor league contract, it would just be a 1 day MLB contract. And those ceremonial contracts tend to take place in the offseason.MrCrowesGarden wrote:I don’t think it’s ceremonial.

With the Rockies being in town, we might even get to see him.

Probably his last hurrah, maybe sitting out for the majority of the year he was able to heal any lingering injuries. If he can prove himself for a few weeks at AAA he can get added to Colorado as a bench bat down the stretch.dmarx114 wrote:Good for Holliday.
