I don't disagree, but I wasn't asking about most impressive. I was asking about most memorable, when it's all said and done.
Because if you want to say memorable, it might be The Decision. We will all forever remember the one tone-deaf moment of his career and the jersey burnings and all that noise.
Oh but wait, you actually meant memorable as in impressive, right? Which is how I answered but you said "I said memorable, not impressive."
This year was LeBron's most memorable and impressive for me. Not sure if I've made this case on the board here, but I'm really big into sports analytics and age-related decline and how they impact the way we project performance and when something completely upends my expectations not because it's an outlier but because someone does something Herculean, I find that very impressive. LeBron playing every game at 33 and single-handedly dragging a team that he forced ownership to completely overhaul at the deadline to the Finals, just basically willing them past a probably better Boston team and sweeping the regular-season champs in Toronto along the way, then vigilantly fighting to keep CLE in two of the four Finals games til the last buzzer, is the most impressive thing I think I've seen LeBron do. LeBron exceeded my expectations in a way that very few pro jocks can exceed expectations at his age. He did the impossible. Just the playing every game thing and leading the league in minutes at his age is so extraordinary and seems impossible. This year is the year LeBron sealed GOAT status.
The year they beat the Dubs Curry was banged up and LeBron had Kyrie and a more functional Kevin Love. This year he had JR Smith running away from th basket as time expires, half of the shell of Isaiah Thomas, Korver in his worst shooting year in forever, Tristan Thompson playing himself to the bench, Kevin Love doing this thing where he disappears for weeks at a time on the court, Clarkson and Nance who ended up riding the bench, Rodney Hood who couldn't get out of the coach and LeBron's doghouse, and so on.
