holy [expletive]...i've been pissed/cussing out DA all damn day. after the earlier moves, he basically came out and said they were done. i was pissed...boy i was wrong lol
getting rid of boat and berglund? sucks to give up thompson, but he's a hell of a lot better than giving up one of the big 2...i'm pumped (also gave up a 2nd rounder in 2021..whatevs)
managing getting rid of those 2 this year? and getting rid of lehtera last year?
and getting ROR and schenn in return??
i'm sorry DA...you got a long leash from me now

The Blues might actually have a team next season.

Now that Berglund is gone, Petro is the longest tenured Blue. And I think if you looked at longest tenure of all St. Louis athletes in terms of debut, the list goes:
1. Yadi
2. Waino
3. Petro
4. Schwartz
T-5. Tarasenko/Allen
But if you go strictly by time with the organization, it's:
1. Yadi
2. Waino
3. Pham
4. Petro
5. Allen
1. Yadi
2. Waino
3. Petro
4. Schwartz
T-5. Tarasenko/Allen

5. Allen

Re: 2018 - 2019 Blues (Hockey) Season
so just pure speculation here, but if you were the Blues, would you make an offer for Erik Karlsson?
Assuming he'd be willing to sign a 8/88m extension in a sign-and-trade, what would you offer?
Would you be willing to do something like Parayko/Thomas/Fabbri/2nd for 9 years of a generational defenseman? Would Ottawa?
I know that's a ton to give up, but players like EK don't become available often. It would fit in the cap this year, and Bouwmeester comes off the books next season - making it a bit more attainable.
I'm not convinced it's even a good idea, let along that the Blues or Ottawa would even consider it. But that'd be pretty friggin awesome in my opinion.
Schwartz - Schenn - Tarasenko
Perron - O'Reilly - Kyrou
Blais - Bozak - Steen
Jaskin - Barbashev - Soshnikov
Dunn - Karlsson
Pietrangelo - Edmondson
Bouwmeester - Bortuzzo

Not really a surprise but Soshnikov gave up 90 to O'Reilly and will wear 86.

I take it that Soshnikov doesn't know what it means to 86 something. Or maybe he does.MrCrowesGarden wrote:Not really a surprise but Soshnikov gave up 90 to O'Reilly and will wear 86.

If Allen can just avoid crapping his pants for half a season, we might be pretty dang good this year.

For as much hand wringing as there is about Allen and goaltending, this team was still 6th best in goals allowed last season. It's always scoring that's the problem. They've at least made the effort to correct that.

All of these moves mean nothing if Allen can't stop the puck next year.
