Re: 2018 MLB Draft
excuse my tangent: went to a few games of my nephew and HS alma mater on their state baseball tourney run (lost, single elimination).
Talking with peeps there including my brother who was key part of a very good Illinois HS team in the FKa GRB Jim era of HS- it kind of blew my mind how different things are today. how refined it is. I didn't recall a lot of HRs back then for doing power #s, my brother affirmed, a lot of the games they had no fences - HRs were essentially inside the parkers.
My how things have changed with the draft and the info. There is good and bad in the MLB refined draft analysis - (i.e [expletive] sake, there is national ranking system of 11 year old girl fast pictch softball!) - I suspect some good players without the size and or the MPH gun # don't get the call which is a shame. However, I digress and daresay the MLB draft is about as good/better at picking out talent as the NFL.
