Season 2 of Westworld is kinda boring. There's no thrill or adventure in sorting through the multiple timelines. Shogun World feels like a meaningless detour. It feels like one of those Game of Thrones episodes where all the main characters are traveling somewhere and it takes a long time, only it's every episode of the season.

I haven't watched the latest WW episode, but I'm ready to jump ship. The mysteries they are hinting at aren't very interesting and many of the characters have regressed this season. Dolores is particually disappointing.
I'd also like to say that fort siege we got a few episodes ago was one of the worst action sequence I've ever seen for a big/moderate budget show. I literally LOL'd when they had that guy hanging off the side of the buggy indiscriminately spraying bullets everywhere. It was like something out of an 80's B movie.

Someone tweeted this recently, but a Maeve centered show told in linear fashion would work just fine for me.

I feel that way about Bernard. Despite the boring mysteries I think he's the most interesting character.ghostrunner wrote:Someone tweeted this recently, but a Maeve centered show told in linear fashion would work just fine for me.
I don't find Maeve's "trying to find her kid" plot line to be very interesting. The show hasn't built any connection between the two so I have a hard time caring.

i'm too stupid for westworld i guess...i've seen every episode and i still have no idea what is going on.
my wife keeps asking me what's going on ever episode, and i used to try and explain it, but then realized, i have no idea what in the world is going on.

I don’t really care if she finds her kid, more just that she comes off more layered than most of the human characters. I care that she cares if that makes sense. Looking forward to seeing what she does now.Michael wrote:I feel that way about Bernard. I'm with y'all on Westword, it's the same way I felt at this point in season one: landscape and violence porn, basically Big Little Lies for dudes. Big Little Lies paid off in the end though, and so did Westworld's first season, so I'm gonna gut it out and hope that it redeems itself on the back end of this season. I did like the WW episode that focused on the elder Devos and William, I thought it was captivating and great in all kinds of ways.

Arrested Development 5 is kinda meh. Some good jokes, some great jokes even, but it's moving at a pace that a show like that can't move at if you haven't lived in the world for a while. Like, when it was weekly and I was DVRing it and watching it live then re-watching it and obsessing about its greatness during the initial three-season run, and the show didn't need to do a heavily-narrated three-minute montage to catch me up to everything that had happened between Then and Now it was a lot better.

I’m watching Mad Men again. I question how good this actually was. There’s some good performances and the 60s aesthetic is really cool I guess. Don Draper is a bit cringey upon second viewing. The show takes a dump and doesn’t know where to go about halfway through the series.
