It's filmed in Oregon City. Boring is a place, small, but still probably with better actors. No high school though.

I had surgery last week and binge watched Doc Martin while I convalesced. That show is good chicken soup for the soul.

Last night's Walking Dead was the best episode in a couple years.

Counterpart on Starz is good. JK Simmons is the lead.

It's a very practical, non sci-fi treatment of an alternate universe concept - a door to an identical World B opened up in Berlin in 1987 and from there the two worlds diverge, with some cooperation between the two sides, but also hostility and espionage.

Technically the plot has issues, and it works better if you don't question the conceit too much. Tonally it reminds me of The Americans - not visually flashy, and I think it's more intended to be about how the characters feel about what's happening, specifically those that meet or know about their counterparts on the other side.

Just finished the "Dirty Money" docu-series on Netflix last night. I thought it was really well produced and the storytelling is captivating. Each episode is about a different con-man and their unfathomable scam.

The last episode is a scorching roast of pre-President Donald Trump. It left me far more depressed and scared for our country than I already was. The episode brings in stories from people from his past businesses, including the producers of the Apprentice, who express regret over creating this false image of a successful business person through the television program.

The Toolman is trying to bring you the Home Improvement reboot you don't want and didn't ask for.

I used to watch Tool Time growing up but his schtick has really not aged well. I have no desire to watch re-runs of the show or a reboot. Heck, as far as I'm concerned, Last Man Standing might as well have been a reboot of Tool Time. He basically plays the same character that I remember but has three daughters instead of sons and runs an outdoor store instead of a TV show... but he still does a video blog for the store so how much different really is it? The biggest difference is that he threw out constant Obama, Obamacare and Liberal jabs every ten seconds whereas I don't remember him being that direct with the political jabs on Tool Time. Then again, I was a kid so I probably just didn't pick up on it.

I never watched Last Man Standing when it was still in production but I have recently seen it in syndication and as terrible as this is going to sound... I actually watch it at 6am on Channel 11 most mornings before getting out of bed for work. I can't stand his humor or him but I do like the women on the show. Everybody is such a stereotype on that show I should hate it. But I still watch it because I like the actresses. And there is nothing else on from 6-6:30am when you don't have cable and don't feel like grabbing the phone from the charger across the room to control YouTubeTV.

no way Home improvement was political as compared to last man standing. that tim taylor character was definitely using stereotypical machismo american male traits that might be considered more republican in nature but it wasn't political. and you are right. it hasn't aged well as a comedy. its just grunts and generic primetime sitcom sentimentality. there's obviously a financial brand that allen can attach himself to, get sympathy and an audience (that's what he was trying to do when LMS got cancelled, blaming liberal hollywood and such instead of the fact the show wasn't good).
