Matt Holliday said in an interview on MLB Network Radio on Friday that he has not yet received a contract offer from any teams this offseason.
Holliday batted .262/.366/.511 with 15 home runs in the first half last season but hit just .179/.225/.300 in the second half while battling through a virus. He wants to continue playing and could probably help a team at the very least in a part-time role, but Holliday is now 38 and it's conceivable he might be pushed into retirement given how slow-moving the market has been.

Some ball players will take a 1 yr 3 mil deal to ride the bench when they have 100 million in the bank. I imagine Holliday would prefer being with his family than joining a team like the Diamondbacks.

Yankees signed OF Shane Robinson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The deal comes with a salary of $950,000 if Robinson makes the Yankees' major league roster, though that will be an uphill battle given the talent all across the organization's outfield depth chart. Robinson, 33, is a career .226/.294/.297 hitter in parts of eight seasons at the big league level.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that Jon Jay "appears to be a consideration for the Marlins."
The fit makes sense, as the Marlins are desperate for outfield help after trading their entire starting outfield this offseason and Jay should come cheap. Jay is also from Miami, went to The U, and the Marlins might offer him more playing time than he'd get anywhere else, so the interest would probably be mutual. Coming off a .296/.374/.375 line with two homers over 433 plate appearances last season with the Cubs, Jay will turn 33 next month.

Designated for assignment by the Oakland Athletics last July, relief pitcher John Axford has found a new home. Sources confirmed to FanRag Sports that Axford has come to an agreement with the Toronto Blue Jays. News of Axford’s deal was first reported by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
