And Jay B. is out tonight as well. The Blues are beat up right now. Certainly isn't ideal to have both of your top defensive pairing out tonight against the highest scoring team in the league.

Looks like I'm going to the game so hopefully they can pull out a win and keep my streak alive this season.

Schenn on his 'fight' the day, "Punches were 3-0 for him and I got four minutes," Schenn said. "I'm not going to call that a fight because I got beat up. It's just a play, he hit Steener, a clean check, you've got to get in there for your teammate. I heard Bortuzzo in the background yelling 'no.' I think he was looking for the fight. I ended up taking it and it didn't go so well for me."

Glad we built up some points early to weather this storm of injuries. The west is just stacked this year, especially if Edmonton wakes up.

Don't forget Jay B. out and Hutton being on IR as well. Better now than playoff time I guess.

There goes my perfect record on the season. The Blues are now 2-1 when I'm there this season. I can't believe how many open nets (or what seemed like open nets) the Blues missed last night. That one miss by Sobotka was absolutely unbelievable. They didn't deserve to win the game if they can't hit an empty net like that. I guess I'll take the positive view that even though they missed on so many great chances, they held it to a 1-0 game until late against the league's highest scoring team without Schwartz and their top two defensemen.

I'll also say that Dunn still continues to impress me with his skill. I think he's going to have that moment where it all comes together before the end of the season and his game will really step up offensively and rack up some points.

I also think they are fudging the stats on the guy in goal last night. If he's only 6'3" then I'm only 5'2". The guy looked HUGE and I can't believe he's only an inch taller than Jake Allen is listed at.

.....and Schwartz

That top line isn't anywhere near the same w/o him.

It's like they all suddenly forgot that the idea is to get the puck past the goalie and into the net instead of hitting the goalie and just missing. The last two games have been rather frustrating. I feel like they played well enough (for the most part) to win both games but just cannot finish for anything and then it gets away from them in the end.

I certainly don't feel like a combined score of 6-1 over the last two is an indication of how competitive they were in both games but losses are losses no matter how good you play in them. They need to get people back and get back on a roll.

This isn't a new problem for the Blues unfortunately.
