Schenn, Schwartz and Tarasenko is amazing. Pretty incredible that some people think Tarasenko is off to a slow start when he's still getting basically a point per game. It's just that he's actually been overshadowed to this point.

Tarasenko may not have the gaudy point numbers but the kid is playing great as far as I'm concerned. He is all over the ice and involved in every aspect of the game right now while drawing special attention from teams that helps free up the other guys on the ice. The goal and assist were nice last night but I really took notice of his work without the puck and defensively. He blocked at least one shot that I remember for sure and had a couple of nice takeaways while being a general disruption whenever the Kings had the puck. They were definitely paying close attention to him any time he was on the ice.
The other guy that I really noticed was Dunn. I haven't got to watch many games this season and resort to listening to them on the radio but it looked to me that Dunn just has great hockey sense in general at both ends of the ice. I especially liked the play where he was at the blue line on the left side of the ice when the puck was trickling down the center with no Blues anywhere near. I thought the Kings were going to have a two or three on one going the other way but he beat the Kings to the puck and just calmly curled into some open space on the right side near the top of circle and put a nice shot on net. The kid looked like he'd been doing that in the league for a decade.

I'd really like to see Gunnarson traded when JayBo returns so Dunn can stay with the team, but I know that would make it tough on depth. (If he has rookie struggles or there is a left side injury, then you run into problems) I figure they'll send him down to get top minutes in the minors for the rest of the year. I do hope they make room for him next year at the latest though. Kid is ready.
I really really love Boat on the 3rd line. He can hold his own on a good top line if necessary, but is at home on the 3rd. Its nice to have him back.

Jordan Kyrou had a 6 point night in the OHL and now has 34 points in 14 games.

I literally almost spit out my drink. I had heard he was doing well but hadn't looked at the numbers. WOW!MrCrowesGarden wrote:Jordan Kyrou had a 6 point night in the OHL and now has 34 points in 14 games.
... unless... I haven't followed the youth leagues as much as I did 10 years ago. Is the OHL a high scoring league?
Rough night against Phi. Can't win em all. Bring on Toronto on Saturday.

It’s nice to get a win when they mostly play like butt.

I wasn't able to listen to this game, so I don't know how much they played like butt. I just watched the video recap and the goals on nhl.com. Wow, a lot of goals from guys just camped out at the net hunting for rebounds. Petro's first goal was ridiculous. A win is a win is a win.
