No. It's really awesome. I'm literally depressed that i probably have to wait a whole year again for more episodes.
After the first season, i was worried that 2 would disappoint comparatively. It smashed my worries and blew me away.

So many angles to take--Mikey, Rudy, Samwise, White Water Summer if you want a deep pull: yet none of you Stranger Things guys could get around to bullet point one of Season 2?
Shame.
Shame.

I think the average viewer struggled to describe the show in a way that did it justice. Every time I asked people why they loved it so much I could never get a good answer. It was always something like, "I dunno, NOSTALGIA! Just watch it!" Describing it as a blend of ET + Goonies + Stand By Me or something like that might be accurate but it really undersells the show. The 80's vibe is perfect and adds a lot of charm but the writing, production, and acting together stands on its own. It's so much more than just a fun mashup of 80's culture.ghostrunner wrote:Also, it's better than the movies it is noted for copying. ET might be the exception, but even then I think it's equally well done.

Here's what I can't figure out though (and I'm only halfway through season 2, so bear with me if this gets answered:ghostrunner wrote: The big thing is - when I have a question about why something is happening the way it is, they either answer it within an episode or two, or a character asks the same question. Unless it's some sort of Twin Peaks dream logic situation, you need to do one of those two things. They do that and it's so, so satisfying.

Just guessing, but they've shown that the upside down affects magnetism and electricity. I suppose either one of those could cause an issue with capturing the image or transferring to tape?heyzeus wrote:Here's what I can't figure out though (and I'm only halfway through season 2, so bear with me if this gets answered:ghostrunner wrote: The big thing is - when I have a question about why something is happening the way it is, they either answer it within an episode or two, or a character asks the same question. House of Cards May Kill Off Frank Underwood Amid Kevin Spacey Scandal
I'd rather they just kill the whole show off.

The finale of season 2 of Stranger Things can definitely be described as "fan service," but [expletive] it. It was absolutely enjoyable. It would have been a satisfying series ending, but I know they'll be back with more. Which is good.

Agreed. For me, the pinnacle of the second season was the ending of the second to last episode. The last episode tied a lot of loose ends up, and was satisfying, but the previous episode choked me up.heyzeus wrote:The finale of season 2 of Stranger Things can definitely be described as "fan service," but [expletive] it. I'm still enjoying Ghosted. Sunday night when Leroy smacked the bad guy and excitedly said (may not be the exact wording), "I told you I'd do that b****! [pause] Oh, I forgot you're immortal," was extremely funny in my mind.
