So who here is watching The Good Place? I can't find any GRB discussion of it.
It's good! Very good! Enjoyable, smart, unexpected. It's hard to believe it's a network show.
Also, who let Ted Danson get hella old?

I remember posting last year about how I liked it but didn't know how they'd keep up the premise.
Now I know. And it's great! Can't ever really go wrong with Ken Tremendous.

I'd like to say that back in the early 2000s when Fire Joe Morgan was ripping the [expletive] out of Eckstein and awful sportswriters, I knew that guy would go on to create several of the best shows on television.
I did not.
I did not.

Damn, it really is!themiddle54 wrote:Nick Kroll's new animated show on Netflix, "Big Mouth", is howlingly funny. All about a bunch of middle school kids hitting puberty. I've been laughing out loud through it.
I don't want to give away too much of the joy, but in the third episode, there is a musical number that is among the most wonderful things I've ever seen.

Star Trek Discovery was renewed for a second season; so I guess the ratings are decent six episodes in. I am still enjoying it.

Oh man we hated it. And we stayed with it until the very end.ghostrunner wrote:Just binged The Sinner, with Jessica Biel, over the past few days. The set up in the first episode is she's a mom at the beach with her family, she gets worked up emotionally watching a couple in front of them fooling around and playing music, and she runs up and stabs the guy, killing him. The rest of the show deals with why she did it.
Really enjoyed it. Bill Pullman plays a mousy old cop who feels a connection with her, and they're both better than anything I've seen them in before. I'd say it's like a more grounded and human version of True Detective, season 1.

Hadn't seen any mentions of Top of the Lake's second season yet. Anyone watch that one? It's binge-worthy, although like the first season, centered on a painfully dark crime. Also like the first season, in season two you start with a few intriguing "WTF" episodes, then the story lands and starts running fast.
