His numbers with and without Edelman are pretty insane. He becomes rather pedestrian without him.

Did you mean to say kook aid? Because I laughed hysterically at that.cardsfansince82 wrote:I might be drinking the kook aid but that offense looks really good. It's like an Andy Reid wet dream with three matchup nightmares, none of whom are wide receivers. As long as they can run the ball semi consistently they will be hard to stop.

There are gobs of minor league professional teams that are community-owned. Some are owned by their city, and some are owned by a non-profit that has many, many local "owners". There are a handful of Midwest League baseball teams that would have relocated or folded a long time ago if they were not community owned like that. These outfits don't have millions in TV money pouring in like the Packers do.

According to this article, only 3000 tickets are made available to county residents, and you have to pay to get into a drawing for those tickets. I'm pretty sure they're not getting free tickets, unless I'm missing something.Swirls wrote:
Not true. All residents of Green Bay are entitled to a free home game each year whether or not they own any shares of the stock. So while it is mostly a donation to the team, it's not completely that. And even then, the entire city has to vote before they open up shares for sale. I think the last big several hundred million dollar upgrade barely passed with only like 52% of the vote or something.

Okay, the stadium tour guy made a mistake.Socnorb11 wrote:According to this article, only 3000 tickets are made available to county residents, and you have to pay to get into a drawing for those tickets. I'm pretty sure they're not getting free tickets, unless I'm missing something.Swirls wrote:

Either way, my point still stands. Local residents are able to see games at Lambeau without paying sky high scalped prices. Even if they have to enter into a weekly lottery only open to local residents. Keep in mind the entire Green Bay "metro area" is only like 100k people.

I thought it was apparent that my statement applied to top-level professional teams (NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, etc). Apparently not.pioneer98 wrote:Swirls wrote:Again, that's where the Packers come in. Re: 2017 NFL Thread
I wonder how the Colts would be regarded in the NFL if Peyton and Luck weren't there when they had the number one picks.
