The difference that you're missing is that what Kaepernick did was on the field, in the uniform. Millions of people saw it, and they'll forever have that image of him in the 49ers uniform. Teams and owners will consider that, also. The team is therefore linked to it. What players do off the field indivudually, teams aren't as connected with.
The conversation became much less meaningless when Kaepernick 1)Didn't vote and 2)Said he's stop protesting if an NLF team would pay him.

Beginning of the end of the Patriots' dynasty.....the Kansas City Chiefs thumped New England, 42-27.
The performance goes down as the most points and yards (537) allowed in a single game during the Bill Belichick era.
The performance was so stunning that it led to another aberration seldom seen by the Patriots: Star quarterback Tom Brady questioned the team’s effort and disposition.
“We just didn’t make a lot of plays tonight, actually,” Brady said after the game. “So we just have to be better in a lot of areas, starting with our attitude and our competitiveness. We have to do a lot better than tonight.”

Yes it was! Nice to see a Chiefs team that has real weapons. Pats tried to take away Kelce. Which left Hill in one-on-one's -- he burns that no problem. If you adjust to try and cover Hill and Kelce? Hunt looks like he can gash you on the ground or catch it out of the backfield -- exactly as advertised. Who do you stop?InvincibleCakeEater wrote:that game was fun as hell
That said, the key to the Chiefs this season has always been the offensive line. It's a young unit and it flashed the potential last year to become a very good unit. Last night, Smith had more time to throw than he has in years. If the line has taken that step forward to become an elite (or at least very good) unit, then the Chiefs have a real shot at a Super Bowl. We know the defense is good enough (even if Berry is out). Skill players are there. Health and offensive line play will be the key.

I might be drinking the kook aid but that offense looks really good. It's like an Andy Reid wet dream with three matchup nightmares, none of whom are wide receivers. As long as they can run the ball semi consistently they will be hard to stop.

Let's hope. When QB's fall, they fall hard and fast. Too soon to tell for sure, but Brady looked like a really ordinary quarterback last night. Even when he had time to throw, he missed targets. Also, New England's front 7 looked horrendous.
