Considering he would have had to play defense every day for St. Louis (no DH), and considering how his bat has cooled off, he probably would have been a negative value player at this point.
yeah but he might not have had to deal with illness if he hadn't been forced to drink NYC tap.

Not that I want to get into this, but didn't they give Holliday's salary to Fowler?

Anyway, Allen Cordoba is hitting .222/.291/.320. It's going to be interesting to see how he plays in 2018 after spending an entire season getting the bat knocked out of his hands at the major league level.

But I thought the Fowler signing proved the Cardinals were actually spending money and weren't just cheap (relatively speaking)?

Marco is starting for the Mariners tonight in a game that has a 200% chance of being rained out.

Rookie Marco Gonzales allowed seven hits and five runs in four-plus innings in his Mariners debut in place of Felix Hernandez, who went on the disabled list Saturday with biceps tendinitis. Gonzales was acquired two weeks ago from the Cardinals.

"That was beautiful," Gonzales said of being spotted a seven-run lead by his offense. "That was amazing. I was thanking everybody in the dugout. That was so great. It's so nice to pitch with the lead right away. It calmed the nerves a lot and I just tried to go out and fill up the strike zone."

I find it difficult to remember what I wrote a few pages ago, too.

Angels designated OF Shane Robinson for assignment.
The move clears a spot for Cameron Maybin's return from the disabled list. Robinson has hit just .200/.276/.200 in the majors this season.

The game in Shane is mainly on the wane.
