BTW, when we initially discussed this I went to my local Friar Tucks they said this was a limited release and did not have it; but I went back a couple days ago and they had it...and it was delicious.

My wife loves the Rosetta. She actually picked up a four pack of their summer saison and is enjoying it right now.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ommegang is one of my top 2-3 craft breweries. I'm loving that they're becoming more and more of a national brewer. Rare Vos is my favorite, followed by Three Philosophers.

A few years ago, I went up to their brewery with Mrs. Swirls and some other friends for a Modest Mouse concert during their summer concert festival. It was over Memorial Day weekend, and we combined it with a trip to the Baseball HOF since the brewery is in Cooperstown. We caught the Old Timer's game, which had the NL team managed by Ozzie Smith. It's still the only time in my life I've seen Pedro Martinez pitch live.

An old buddy of mine will be staying near Earth City for a conference in August. Want to take him out while he's here. Where around there has the best combination of really good beers and really good food? Somewhere in St. Charles? Anything around the Westport area that I'm not thinking of off the top of my head?

I'm thinking either Hendricks BBQ or Trailhead so far.

Prasino maybe. Do you really have to stay in that immediate area?

No. Don't have to. But the less time we spend driving, the more time we get to spend catching up.

Hendricks is better than Trailhead. Never been to O'Fallon brewery in westport, but heard it's good.

I haven't been to Trailhead in years. I remember loving the atmosphere of the place, and liking (but not loving) a few of their beers. I've been to Hendricks quite often the last couple of years. Love the food, and has a pretty good selection of beer (and whiskeys!).

Also, O'fallon might be a good call, too. Good suggestion!

Was going to suggest this based on the location you mentioned.

Take my word for it- When you run out of beer and resort to that Leinenkugal Grapefruit Shandy in the back of the fridge, it is time to stop drinking for the day.
