I don't know. I also don't know how it's relevant to Pete Kozma.

Re: Former Cardinals Watch
that's not a very good question, as the top SS prospects are always picked at the top of every draft...where the cardinals never pick. so they haven't had a chance.Johnconrad wrote:Name the last major league caliber Cardinals shortstop that's been drafted in the traditional manner.go birds wrote:thats a really great pointFarewell Friends wrote:Sure we can blame Luhnow. He didn't have to pick Kozma.
Anyway, my larger point was an eye roll at the "great draft pick!"
sure you can pick out some random SS that is great that was picked in like round 8, but that means every other team failed to draft them as well....multiple times/rounds.
perez last year was the first chance they've had to draft a top notch SS prospect; and that was only due to his failed drug test.

Problem with drafting top notch SS is they always go in the top ten and Cardinals never finish bad enough to get a chance at those guys, Cardinals I think are the only team to never have the #1 overall draft pick so even in their worst years they've never bottomed out to the worst in baseball standards.

Here it is unless you are one of the 17 people that were at the game to see this. I hope he hits 200 more before he retires.
