Now I'm hoping for a Nationals/Yankees World Series.

Motte, 34, signed a two-year, $10 million contract before the 2016 season, but he never pitched as the Rockies hoped he would. The former Cardinals closer missed time last year because of rotator cuff issues and ended the first year of his contract with a 4.94 ERA over 23⅔ innings. He failed to impress this spring, posting an 8.31 ERA with a .378 average against over 8⅔ innings.

“We just felt like when we looked at all of the pitchers, we just had a few guys ahead of him,” Black said. “Jason, at times, showed a nice fastball velocity, and spotted it at times. He had the little cutter-slider. But we looked at the collection of guys we had in our ‘pen, and we had some guys ahead of him.”

Motte didn't reach MLB full time until age 27 but still managed to make $30 million and win a ring. Probably should have been an all star at some point too. That's a cool career.

Not to derail the thread but I always felt Mark Buehrle had an awesome career. Not gonna be a HOFer and never won a Cy, but he threw a perfect game, had a no hitter to go with, started an ASG and got a ring.

Kozma has indeed signed a ML contract with the Yankees.
