That reminds me of the cafeteria at work. I won't want anything they have all week and then they'll have three things I like on the same day and I want to gut them all.

At the grocery store, a douchebag guy also on his phone ahead of her. She thought paying for grocery order of a crabby white guy at the store, but sensed he was a Trump guy.
So, she didn't pledge to do a random act of kindness, but an act of kindness to someone who she interpreted to need the help, so it was actually a targeted act of kindness...

My brand new fancy uncloggable toilet is broken. So I went to the other main floor toilet. I clogged it. I miss my uncloggable toilet.

I clogged a sewer line. Long story, short. Butt wipes don't disintegrate like toilet paper does. Our washer broke down and it was a week before we ran a load of laundry again. During that time, there was a buildup at a joint that was slightly disconnected. As soon as the washer ran, the sewer line in the yard clogged up. So, I went to home depot and bought a little bladder to go down in the line and get it unclogged.

That worked, but the line would clog up every time we ran the washer. So, I had a roto rooter guy come out and look for anything. He couldn't find anything.

So, I had a guy come out and camera it and he found the little build up at the joint that was disconnected. I was scheduling a guy to come out and dig up the line and fix it. But, we had another clog. So, I got the bladder out again and tried to fix the problem. This time I tried to pull the bladder out without turning the water off and tore the hose off the bladder....oops.

Had to have a guy come out and fix the line THEN the camera guy had to come out while the line was open and run a jet thing through to chase the bladder out as we couldn't get to it. FML.

It could be worse. When I was 21 or 22 I was heading to Breckenridge for spring break with some friends and since I was living downtown and had to pay for my laundry, I took it all to my parents' house to do it and crashed there for the night since we were borrowing a friend's dad's Suburban for the drive and they lived five doors up the street from my parents.

I did all the laundry and left my stuff packed next to he washer and dryer before running to the store. When I got back the kitchen was filled with sewage and more was pouring in. My stuff was in the middle of it. My dad had already called Roto-Rooter and as soon as I got there he ran to the store to get a wet dry vac. While he was gone the Roto-Rooter guy knocked on the door and immediately said that he had good news and bad news. The bad news was that he couldn't help. The good news was that before he knocked on the door he had opened the cover for the line in the front yard and instead of flowing into the house, the sewage was flowing into the front yard and then to the sewer out front. The issue was with the sewer line right in front of our house so every time somebody flushed a toilet or put any water down the drain up the street... it was coming out in the house/front yard.

I was too poor to buy new stuff so I went to a laundry mat and washed everything three times before leaving. I would have washed them more but I didn't have time. Thankfully MSD paid for the entire cleanup and even reimbursed my parents for the shop vac. The other good thing was that my parents were remodeling the kitchen and literally didn't have any cabinets in the kitchen since the new ones were supposed to go in that weekend (didn't happen).

Yeah, if you have stuff backing up into your sinks or hear that bubbling noise, go ahead and take the cap off the clean out (should be pretty easy) and sewage will flow into your yard which while not ideal is much better than in your house. Ideally, don't run any water that runs to the sewer until it's fixed though.

Here's a pic of a cleanout in case anyone ever needs to do this themselves.

Not sure you are in St. Louis. Who was the camera guy. I want to do this to our gutter lines that are underground because I think they are broken. Water in the basement when it rains really hard.

Not in St. Louis.

And, not to be the bearer of bad news, but if water is getting into your basement, something more nefarious than busted pipes is happening. Fixing the pipes could help alleviate the problem, BUT there's a way it's getting in that should not exist. The thought of having to deal with that hurts my head, Molly. So good luck. Hopefully it's the pipes and fixing them resolves the issue!
