Do not trust people in southern/hot weather states with beer.
Do not trust people in northern/cold weather states with biscuits, gravy, and BBQ. And to a lesser degree, fried chicken.
There are exceptions but it's a pretty good rule of thumb.

Hmmm. I hadn't noticed this trend. We certainly have a lot of good beer here in Texas. Maybe it's more the southeast that's a beer desert?
