Saw something on Gizmodo about surviving the inevitable nuclear war and it reminded me of two of my favorite books, On the Beach and Alas Babylon. Since I was thinking about them I popped onto Barnes and Noble's website and wouldn't you know they have Alas Babylon for Nook and I don't know why but I had a little over $13 in gift cards left from YEARS ago. I hate spending $8 on an ebook but since I am only using really old gift cards I bought it. They want $12 for On the Beach and that isn't happening.

I usually only get "death in the family" emails about the people I work with locally, but sometimes they are sent out to everyone in our department nationwide. Today I get one about a lady in Florida and it says "Jane lost her son Nick to drug addiction."

I can't imagine someone being dumb enough to just tell people that without permission, but I also can't imagine anyone wanting a couple hundred people to know that about them.

I wonder why we tend to treat people the same way the treat us, even if the way they treat us pisses us off?

Why is broccoli cheddar soup so dang good? I just realized that I'm sitting at my desk literally drinking it like it's... something you drink. And I don't even care what people think. It's worth it. I'm about to go back and get some more here soon before the cafeteria runs out.
