If you forget the history with Rasmus and just look at his career #'s, production and profile, I think I would have been arguing that he's the perfect pickup to compete alongside Grichuk/Fowler/Piscotty. As a 4th OF'er, backup CF'er, he would be nice to have.

But, we can't forget the history or look just at his career #'s. Which is why I never even mentioned it around here. He was never going to be a player the Cards even glanced at.

Agreed. And he signed for 5 million. That's a steal.

I was shot down when I suggested him as a reserve, in another thread a couple of weeks ago.

I feel there's been enough turnover where him coming back wouldn't have been an issue. The only guys left from that era are Molina and Wainwright.

I don't think that Rasmus would come here knowing that he would just be a reserve. He'll probably be starting most of the time in Tampa.

Most former Cardinals are welcomed back after they return but cases like Rasmus just seems more in the Tino Martinez section to where it's best to just leave things alone. Well maybe not as bad as Tino but you get what I'm trying to say.

Wouldn't be an issue? Everyone from DeWitt to Mo, to the fans remember Daddy Rasmus doing whatever he wanted with his son on Cardinal's property. F*ck the Rasmuses. They are a cancer.
