If they don't lose to Pitt they're in.
Osu lost to psu, why do they get in?
Because they clocked Oklahoma on the road and obliterated Nebraska, neither of which PSU did, as well as PSU losing to Pittsburgh and getting destroyed by Michigan. PSU vs OSU is an important data point — it's why PSU was in the conversation at all — but it doesn't override all that other stuff.

seems to me that conference championships should either be completely eliminated or they should carry a little more weight.

I'm in favor of getting rid of them.

They shouldn't - and can't - matter as much as they did in the days where everyone in the conferences were playing each other. As it is now, teams in the SEC, Big Ten, ACC and Pac-12 go multiple years in a row without meeting, and the divisional titles are determined in part by schedule luck (OSU drew the best 2 teams in the Big Ten West and PSU played #3 and #4, for instance — Va Tech reached the ACC title game mostly because they dodged the 3 good teams in the league, who were all in the other division).

There's nothing inherently wrong with conferences in general, it's fine to have a goal to go for outside of the national title, but people make mistakes when they weigh them too heavily.

Soon enough they will go to the super conferences and maybe they'll just be part of the playoffs.

Won the conference osu plays in, beat osu head to head, and has won 9bstraight in a conference that had 3 teams in the top 6, 4 in the top10. Lol lol they check every box ever mentioned.

2 losses.

That's essentially what it comes down to.

You have 4 teams who played strong schedules and had zero or one loss. It makes sense that those 4 teams would get in.

Then we should've never gotten rid of the BCS. That's the result it would've spit out.

Washington played a pretty garbage schedule.

The whole reason for the committee was to weed that out.

A Wake Forest radio analyst and former coach was busted leaking game information to the opponents.

This is wild. Sounds like he was ticked that he wasn't retained by Clawson and thus retaliated. What a d-bag.

The reactions to Fournette and McCaffrey skipping their bowl games were predictable, but still funny. It's amazing how our country values all that Ayn Rand [expletive] when it comes to businesses stomping on the necks of ordinary Americans in the name of profit, but when it comes to a 20-year-olds protecting themselves it's a crisis.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

Coaches bail on their team before bowls all the time
