Luke Cage is the best of the Netflix Marvel shows. I just wish they had let Pop live somehow because that guy is a hall of fame level wise old man character actor.
The series did drag and I ultimately didn't like how little cotton mouth amounted to in the end, but it was still very good.

Cotton Mouth was the worst of the four villains. Remy Denton was my favorite.thrill wrote:Luke Cage is the best of the Netflix Marvel shows. I just wish they had let Pop live somehow because that guy is a hall of fame level wise old man character actor.

What was cool about Luke Cage was how stylistically it felt like a vintage comic book. Camera angles, styling, set design, etc.

I think you meant to say Diamondback. He just about killed the show for me. He was like a CW supervillain - both in terms of costume and performance. I do think all the Defenders shows have been 4-5 episodes too long.BW23 wrote:Cotton Mouth was the worst of the four villains. I have been keeping up with it. Decent. I think this is going to work best as a limited run, though.wart57 wrote:Anybody else watching Designated Survivor?

Well, they at least kept to the original comic storyline somewhat, as Carl Lucas was framed by his childhood friend Willis Stryker and sent to prison. Although in the comics he volunteered for the experiment in exchange for an early parole rather than only getting the experiment because he was dying from the prison fight.ghostrunner wrote:I think you meant to say Diamondback. He's married to Jessica Jones in the comics, so I'm kind of bummed to see that she hasn't been involved in this series at all, despite him appearing probably half of the episodes of the first season of her show late last year. I'm guessing the season ends with Luke and Misty Knight creating the Heroes for Hire?***
***I'm only halfway through episode 12, so perhaps something will change regarding this in the final 90 minutes of the season.

Yes, you're right. Thanks. Cottonmouth was very well done. I thought JJ was an episode or two too long. Same for each season of Daredevil. Some of that may be attributed to binge watching vs how most series' are on TV. There's always bad episodes or dead spots in series. At least those prior two were only 8 episodes each, IIRC. This was 13. I guess they felt they needed to take it to a specific point prior to the Defenders.ghostrunner wrote:I think you meant to say Diamondback. He just about killed the show for me. Same here. I like it, but I'm not sure how they extend this to more than a couple of seasons.MrCrowesGarden wrote:I have been keeping up with it. Decent. I think this is going to work best as a limited run, though.wart57 wrote:Anybody else watching Designated Survivor?

I liked how Luke was in the Jessica Jones series. I was hoping for more with Jessica in his series. Maybe we're set up for a love triangle with Claire, Luke and Jessica. I'm sure Jessica would be down.Swirls wrote:Well, they at least kept to the original comic storyline somewhat, as Carl Lucas was framed by his childhood friend Willis Stryker and sent to prison.
