Here's the long wacky story... spoilered because the story is way longer than the beer is probably worth. Click on the spoiler if you want a little Baltimore beer history.
[SHOW]
Natty Boh was brewed in Baltimore forever, and was beloved by the city because Baltimore is very much like STL in that they are very proud of their homegrown products. Boh is a fairly run of the mill cheap beer- a Dad beer, in the parlance of our times. Personally, I think it's the PERFECT Dad beer (or stretch beer, if you will). But just to frame the story, we aren't talking about Bourbon County Stout or some unicorn beer. We're talking about mass produced fun.

Then in 2010, Pabst started producing Boh outside of the Charm City, which means it ceased to be a Baltimore beer. It was more readily available because of the Pabst ties, but it also lost a little of the charm for Balitmorawegians. One of the Baltimore brewers decided that Baltimore should still have a Bohemian pils brewed in the city, and created Old Oriole Park Bohemian. The name itself ties to Natty Boh in two ways- obviously, the Bohemian deal, and also the O's and the ballpark because Natty Boh is/was a staple at O's games going all the way back pre-Camden. Strangely enough, though, OOP is a craft beer, and it's from a relatively small brewer. So even in DC, just 40 minutes down the road from Baltimore, it's not easy for me to find it. BUT, I finally managed to get ahold of a sixer.
Old Oriole Park is probably the least offensive beer I've ever had, and possibly the most drinkable beer I've ever had. This is a mixed blessing, especially since it's from a craft brewer. It'd be like going to a four star restaurant and having them serve you a Spam sandwich. A really GOOD Spam sandwich, but a Spam sandwich all the same. Basically OOP is like the most drinkable version of Bud/Miller/Coors you've ever had. It should be served in a white can with big red and blue letters that label it BEER™ across the front.
Good and bad too because it is 120 degrees here, so presumably about 130 there and you need a bunch of them.

I am going full circle on beer -starting to favor a good pilsner again-especially in the summer. I really like pilsners the crafty places are putting out now(UCBC) as well as the Euro(Paulaner) beers. They are better than Miller High Life.....only I used to get High life by the case for same that I'd pay for a sixer of the same-style gooder version pilsners.

Anyway, because of all that I m glad to see a good craft pilsner on a bar -rest menu, but I rarely buy it for home.
In short-what you said.

a few good moments in this fake homage to Bud Light Lime.
http://adequateman.deadspin.com/please- ... 782187808?
Bud Light Lime is the creation of August Busch IV, the dumbest in a series of men named August Busch who have run the Budweiser company. Busch IV is responsible for some of the most ambitious failures in the company’s history, including a raspberry ginseng caffeinated malt beverage called “Tilt,” Michelob Ultra Lime Cactus, a pair of separately packaged shots sold together and intended for mixing called “Jekyll & Hyde,” and “Spykes,” two-ounce shots full of caffeine marketed as beer mixers that came in flavors like “spicy mango” and “hot melons.” Busch IV was the last of the Busch men to control the company, and he struggled with addiction throughout his tenure. It was Busch IV who oversaw the company’s sale by hostile takeover to InBev. Somehow, through it all, he struck gold exactly once, with the creation of the good time lime.

Sounds like a 21st century version of this Pabst classic.

Coors to release 60 pack in Wisconsin
[SHOW]
Image
When asked if the 60 can packaging will be offered in other states, MillerCoors noted, “Collectively, no other citizens drink beer like Wisconsin’s. It would end up being on the shelf too long to be practical. By comparison, the Wisconsin consumer will drink a 60-pack in little more than a week.”

Ha. And with their tolerance in WI, it will take at least 60 beers to get buzzed off Coors..

These guys will need to find a deep freeze to get it cold instead of the top freezer on Mom's fridge.

When rolling thru places, found some strange legal vestiges of temperance (state local and whatnot).

In WI my brother said they have some sort of 9pm law at grocery stores, and also a separate space for selling alcohol. In MO, Sunday morning off limits. One place in MI, they have to bag your beer purchase up before you leave. Now if there is such a law in WI, they will need to use wide large waste bags for that Coors. \

I found out recently from a friend, that my burb the law doesn't allow liquor in public spaces and parks (isn't being enforced).

....Ah well, it just adds to life challenges. If every beer I like was available 24-7 wherever I travelled, it wouldn't be as fun.
