Haha. Well, no one ever said they didn't have good places to eat or drink. Probably the best thing about the town. It's a great place to spend a weekend (and a horrible place to live).

Actually made it out to their place in New Haven 2 summers ago. Really didn't sound like my kind of place but it was actually pretty nice. Odd, but nice.

Anybody tried Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat lately? The new labeling caught my eye so I picked up a six. It was way more tart than I recall. Fantastic really. Then I grabbed another six at the gas station up the street in the old packaging. Not tart. Not as good. I haven't seen where the changed the recipe. Maybe I need to recheck the label.

The Western Town and mini resort with scarcely anybody there -I said to my wife it feels like an episode of Scooby Doo.

Not sure where I heard it, the brewer or somebody became divorced from property owner family.

According to Boulevard, their Unfiltered Wheat has always had citrus tart flavor a when fresh. Really don't ever recall that from my UW experiences. And the 6 I just bought definitely doesn't have it.

I picked up a sixer of this:

Here's the long wacky story... spoilered because the story is way longer than the beer is probably worth. Click on the spoiler if you want a little Baltimore beer history.
[SHOW]
Natty Boh was brewed in Baltimore forever, and was beloved by the city because Baltimore is very much like STL in that they are very proud of their homegrown products. Boh is a fairly run of the mill cheap beer- a Dad beer, in the parlance of our times. Personally, I think it's the PERFECT Dad beer (or stretch beer, if you will). But just to frame the story, we aren't talking about Bourbon County Stout or some unicorn beer. We're talking about mass produced fun.

Then in 2010, Pabst started producing Boh outside of the Charm City, which means it ceased to be a Baltimore beer. It was more readily available because of the Pabst ties, but it also lost a little of the charm for Balitmorawegians. One of the Baltimore brewers decided that Baltimore should still have a Bohemian pils brewed in the city, and created Old Oriole Park Bohemian. The name itself ties to Natty Boh in two ways- obviously, the Bohemian deal, and also the O's and the ballpark because Natty Boh is/was a staple at O's games going all the way back pre-Camden. Strangely enough, though, OOP is a craft beer, and it's from a relatively small brewer. So even in DC, just 40 minutes down the road from Baltimore, it's not easy for me to find it. BUT, I finally managed to get ahold of a sixer.
Old Oriole Park is probably the least offensive beer I've ever had, and possibly the most drinkable beer I've ever had. This is a mixed blessing, especially since it's from a craft brewer. It'd be like going to a four star restaurant and having them serve you a Spam sandwich. A really GOOD Spam sandwich, but a Spam sandwich all the same. Basically OOP is like the most drinkable version of Bud/Miller/Coors you've ever had. It should be served in a white can with big red and blue letters that label it BEER™ across the front.
