I think it's pretty simple. I think the whole "taking my talents to South Beach" thing was a huge turn-off for many people. I think he's also perceived as a guy who has immense natural athletic gifts, while Curry isn't as gifted and has had to work incredibly hard to be successful (I think that's false, because I believe Lebron works just as hard).
I would actually like to see Lebron win one for Cleveland. I don't dislike either guy, though
Curry was also never a threat to the sacred memory of Michael Jordan. When Michael Jordan got cramps, he cut off his leg and scored 38.
LeBron had to grow up in front of us and the power of the microscope was new. Granted at times he didn't even deliver acceptable, but we demanded perfection. He also probably spent all of his teens told his [expletive] smells like roses.
I think Curry is more the athletic freak than he gets credit for. But he has a skill that is sexy, incredibly unique and a physique that is perhaps more relatable. At the same time, has there ever been anything like Russ? I guess incredible physical/athletic gifts is more familiar than Curry's wizardry, but man Russ is like the monster in fantasy movies they release from a cage to attack enemies. I don't think there's ever been anything quite like it. I don't think Wade was that nuclear.
I don't know if Curry has the 'I will kill your entire family' competitive attitude that MJ and Kobe have and LeBron just doesn't. Honestly I bet he'd get a pass there. If he got cramps people would send him get well cards.
At the time, I hated that Nike LeBron 'who am I supposed to be?' commercial. He'd just effed up big time and was asking basketball fans to take responsibility for their expectations? Off the heels of The Decision there was a simple answer: not an [expletive]. Very poor timing.
But in retrospect, independent ofThe Decision, l think it's perfect. Although he does have a Chosen 1 tattoo.
I don't like Lebron. But it isn't his personality but rather his game. I do not like the put head down and bulldoze my way into the lane game of his. It isn't aesthetically pleasing to me. Much prefer Curry and Klay's game.

Of course I really enjoyed Kobe and MJ's game.
I get this, but I'm the exact opposite. I wasn't old enough to enjoy them in their heydays, but I would've loved every second of the Bad Boys abusing MJ.

I've never been a big Lebron fan, and I really enjoy Curry more than I have any player since MJ. His dancing/celebrating is the one thing that I dislike. I think Curry being such an underdog to begin with because of his size/injuries to continue to get better and do what he's done is simply unmatched. He was MVP last year, and he very well could have been the most improved player this year. Best shooter I've ever seen, bar none. I'd rather have my son duplicate what Klay does in terms of his actions/reactions to shots, but I'm glad Curry has made him like basketball a lot more.
