Re: TV Thread - beware, [expletive] can get spoilery
well im gonna go out on a limb and say there is a HUGE fallout between kim and jimmy, which will lead to jimmy becoming saul. Im guessing thats why there was so much focus on her. We probably wont be seeing her much next season, since itll prolly be the reason she goes back to the midwest (nebraska?). Just pullin that out of my ass though
i dont disagree with much of what SW is saying, but i also dont think this season was pointless. it was still compelling to me.

I don't care too much about the "when does jimmy become saul?" question. When it happens, it happens, and Jimmy is interesting enough to keep it going. I mean, it's the whole point of the show, right? It's fine that it's a slow burn. Walt didn't break bad overnight. Kim definitely grew on me and is a necessary character, and she's 1000x better than Skyler as far as supporting female leads in the BrBa universe go. Somebody needs to be conflicted about Jimmy's behavior, right? She does that well.Secret Weapon wrote:I still feel like season 2 was kind of pointless. I think the original plan was after season 1 to have Jimmy turn into Saul but they changed their mind to drag out the Jimmy story longer and the plot has not really advanced at all.
At the end of season 1 we find out his brother has been backstabbing him which is what we thought would drive Jimmy into becoming Saul. We were led to believe Jimmy was done with his brother after this revelation. But in Season 2 not only has Saul forgiven his brother and is taking care of him, he, for some reasons, admits the felony he committed against him to make him feel better. And so here we are at the end of season 2 and his brother backstabs him again and now we again think this may be what causes him to turn into Saul.
Jimmy/Saul is most interesting when he is either interacting with criminals, in the court room, or working with Mike. Yet we saw basically none of this in season 2. Season 2 basically became the Kim show, and she is a much more boring character than either Jimmy or Mike.
I had such high hopes for this show, and there are still some great moments (the second to last episode was great), but I really hope we get to some plot development soon.
Also, why make the anagram Frings Back with the episode titles and not bring Fring back? Maybe the note is from Fring, but that's kind of a cop out.
The note is almost definitely from fring, not sure how that's a cop out. And I don't really think that this is a "plot" kinda show. It's a "character" show.

And there's no way that "confession" is damning. If I didn't know the truth, I'd believe that confession was Jimmy trying to pull his brother from the brink of insanity.Schlich wrote:He did it for Kim. Well, that and the thrill.heyzeus wrote:The flaw of season 2, as Secret Weapon points out is:
I'm guessing Chuck uses it to bully Jimmy, and the resulting agreement is Jimmy stops using his own name.

Has anyone watched the show Noisey on Viceland? It's a documentary about musicians in different cultures and areas of the world. I've watched a few episodes and it's pretty compelling stuff, very interesting.

I like the Vice documentary series on HBO, but it kills me the way their founder guy talks with his hands and can't read a sentence without sounding like a badly programmed robot.
