Well, i watched the last couple Walking Deads after hearing so many good things, having skipped the previous 5 or so. Pretty damn good, especially this most recent one. This show always does this.

It's great. And I love that it has a sense of humor about itself, at least for now. At some point, I'm guessing it'll go to some dark places, but I'm glad to revel in Tony the Toilet, the Chicago Sunroof, and Squat Cobbler for now.go birds wrote:Am i being a fanboy when i say that Better Call Saul has been pretty good?
Granted there's not much really to talk about but i cant wait til he goes rogue. Looks like that's slowly happening.
Last night, I watched The Walking Dead and the X-Files finale before getting to Saul. And seeing those piles of garbage really made Saul an almost mandatory palate cleanser.

Few quick thoughts on OJ:
1) I still have trouble getting past Travolta's over the top acting. Coupled with his botox, it's a little distracting.
2) Along those lines, it seems they are about as hit and miss as can be with finding actors who like the people they're portraying. Cochran, Darden, and Fred Goldman are all dead ringers, and Marcia Clark is pretty close. On the other end, Cuba doesn't look much like OJ, and they didn't even try with Connie Britton as Faye Resnick (not to say Connie isn't good, she just looks nothing like her).
3) Courtney B. Vance has really stolen the show for me to this point. I hope he gets rewarded for it.
4) Two weeks in a row where they've dropped an F-bomb. I don't remember that happening on any other FX show, but admittedly I haven't watched them very closely for some time.

Lots of stuff coming back soon. Broad City already back. The Americans. Daredevil in March. Penny dreadful and Game of Thrones in April. They really need to move these shows away from baseball season.

It's just a purely enjoyable show. It feels like after the tense catharsis of Breaking Bad, Gilligan is just giving us the pure entertainment of that show without the lessons about adoring violent renegades.JL21 wrote:It's great. BCS - I concur, Gilligan and Co are having a lot of fun with it. Fitting since the Saul character was a bit of comic relief to some of the dark [expletive] going on in Breaking Bad
