Doesn't really fit in this category, but didn't know where else to put it. Cool Willie McGee story:

Jesus, he's 36-years-old now? I'm so out of touch. I thought he was like 32.Joe Shlabotnik wrote:Manager Mike Scioscia said Thursday the three-time NL MVP is doing some swinging but still has a lengthy recovery ahead. Coming off his first 40-home run season since 2010 with St. Louis, Pujols had surgery in November after foot pain limited him to a designated hitter role during the final month of last season.
The team's medical staff thinks Pujols won't be ready for the April 4 opener against the Chicago Cubs.

Re: Former Cardinals Watch
The most hated man in baseball is still at it.
Yadi is at 1,436 BTW.Pierzynski has caught 1,872 major league games. If he plays 79 games behind the plate this season — after 107 last year — he will trail only five players on the career list for games caught: Ivan Rodriguez, Carlton Fisk, Bob Boone, Gary Carter and Jason Kendall. Pierzynski has caught more games than 10 Hall of Famers and many other stalwarts, like Ted Simmons, an eight-time All-Star for St. Louis and Milwaukee.

Is its contract that worst? Wow, unbelieable! I just think somebody may have signed a more worst contract before.Jocephus wrote:insider article on top 25 worst contracts and albert is number one

pretty sure he was in our system at one time
Andrew Brown has decided to retire from baseball.
Brown signed a minor league contract with the Angels earlier this month but only spent one week in camp. The 31-year-old played in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2015. He simply wants to spend more time with his family.

Mike: Is Freese going to have to wait for an injury in spring training to get a job? You'd think with his history that some team would want him, but I can't think of any obvious fits right now

Dan Szymborski: Seems likely. Freese isn't very good.
