I am thinking about it. A little science experiment, see how it feels, ditch some calories in a month I am often less active, king of the castle bs. Thought about it last year too.
There you go. Think about it. Just don't do it.
I don't quite understand what they are talking about to be honest.

rad sorry to hear about your setback, that sucks. Hang in there.

So far only put a couple lbs on this season since thanksgiving. Less than normal for me.

Heading to FL in a few minutes, and will see how that holds.

it does have something to do with the food/drink this time of year. But for me I feel I am fighting gravity with the short daylight hours and altered schedules. caveman theory is that I am predisposed to hibernate now. Kind of have to roll with it, but not go completely off the rails. In a few days, I sign up for a few races -that tends to motivate me.

I think it's safe to say at this point i've gained 2 pounds since Thanksgiving that need to come off. My weight varies - my morning after workout weight has been anywhere from 198-202 which I consider ideal, and since the past couple of weeks I've seen it more at 200-204. Nothing big but it has happened. Need to check that before it gets to be something difficult to deal with.

My shoulder hurts. My dilemma is always whether or not it's just old man pain that I can learn to live with or if it's I'm screwing up my shoulder pain

I just got back from spin class. I've decided I'm going to train in 2016 for fall/winter cyclocross events in Chicagoland. Now that I've taken off most of the weight I want to ease back on the dieting and focus on getting in better shape. I need something to keep me motivated and I think cyclocross is it. It just really appeals to me. I got a good deal on a really nice cyclocross bike that I'm itching to use.

One of my best friends is into cyclocross (actually he's into any type of bike racing, he was the 50+ state champ road cyclist this year). He lives in Bloomington but I know alot of the better cyclocross races are up here - several out in Kane County I think. Sounds like fun I just don't need another expensive hobby.

I have run several trail races with this woman http://www.cxmagazine.com/sunny-gilber ... ll-results

Sunny will do a trail race in the AM and cylcecross in the afternoon. A beast. Sounds like she is mainly cycling now.

I used a cyclocross bike to ride to Alaska. Seems like a less expensive hobby than road racing because I don't think the crashes will [expletive] up you or your bike nearly as bad but maybe I'm wrong.

Might be right but I know my buddy messed himself up pretty bad in either a cyclocross event or a mountain bike race - can't remember which. I really don't know what those bikes cost. The road bikes are outrageous. I know my buddy buys used to keep cost down but he was telling me the rims are $1000 or ONE. One rim. He said guys can wrap up $3k or so just in the wheels. I went to a race of his this past year by me and he was showing me his buddies bike that he said was over $10k. I think he manages to keep his under 2-3K per bike (he has several of course of each kind). You open his front door of this house and the hallway and dining room are nothing but bikes and bike parts and bike equipment.

$10k for a bicycle.

I can get reasonable fishing boat with electronics, motor, and trolling motor for that cost.

No way do you need a bike that expensive unless you really want to go off the deep end. I paid about 2.7k for my bike, which is already ridiculous given my level. I could (any most likely should) have gotten a bike for around 1k. Even hybrids and touring bikes make excellent first-time cyclocross bikes if you really want to save money.

All that said, I decided to get a true cyclocross bike because I figure it'll be a bit safer to ride with disc brakes, etc.
