Re: The Beer Thread
I love Celebrator. I remember it was the first beer I ever had that was actually rated a perfect 100 at BeerAdvocate and RateBeer.
Plus those plastic goats on every bottle are nifty as hell.

Celebrator is one of those beers that's not you entry to good beer, but after you've had some craft beers and gotten past drinking piss it's one of those things you try because you've become a good and curious beer drinker and you try it and have the kind of 'HOLY CRAP' moment like you had when you first had a craft beer. Saison Dupont is another one.

Yup. Troeg's Mad Elf and Ommegang Three Philosophers are the same way.33anda3rd wrote:Celebrator is one of those beers that's not you entry to good beer, but after you've had some craft beers and gotten past drinking piss it's one of those things you try because you've become a good and curious beer drinker and you try it and have the kind of 'HOLY CRAP' moment like you had when you first had a craft beer. Mad Elf is out, too. I didn't buy it yet but I shall be doing so very soon.

BCS is out Friday.
Or most days after Friday if you don't have to be first and are like a C- or better at resourcefulness.

I freaking love Mad Elf. Shame Troeg's doesn't distribute to either South Carolina or Minnesota. It's been a couple years now since I've had it.JL21 wrote:Mad Elf is out, too. I didn't buy it yet but I shall be doing so very soon.

I was drinking the Troegenator over the weekend. Just judging from the handful of their beers I've had, Troegs in general is a very underrated brewery.

Yeah, the Troegenator doppelbock is probably my second favorite beer of theirs (Mad Elf is #1).

The Black Friday tie in is a stroke of genius. A small pub I visit in tiny river town Grafton is tapping one Friday. (cant be there)33anda3rd wrote:BCS is out Friday.

I think there are plenty of good alternatives to BCS these days, but it is cool what they have going.
And agree with all the comments on ayinger celebrator. Sweet Comfort beer. I wish I would have saved all the Rams-goats or whatever they are to decorate an xmas tree with.
