Finally was able to pick up my Synek yesterday. Filled my first cartridge with Modern Brewery's LouDog (since Citrapolis was tapped out already). Did anyone else here get in on the Kickstarter campaign?

Keep us posted on how it tastes, I'm curious about this thing.

It's not gonna be around for long. They did six more barrels and it's going fast apparently.

Maybe it's already been mentioned but "Not your fathers root beer" is insanely good and potent, I think the tap version is 10% and tastes like root beer.

I mentioned it a couple months ago several pages back. Not sure if other also mentioned it or not.

What you need to do is use NYFRB for root beer floats. That [expletive] is so good it's dangerous.

You could jazz that up with some moonshine, bourbon cream, or this stuff

Will indeed keep you posted on the experiment. So far, nothing to say good or bad about the quality of the beer. As long as the beer is cold enough you get a nice pour. I think it is going to be pretty on par with any keg system as long as consumers keep their lines clean and the system in good shape. I need to put in a few more beers I'm more familiar with before I say more on that.

As for the system itself, it is still a little buggy. The regulator is cheap and malfunctions sometimes. I've also had some issues with the internal thermometer in the cooling unit. Although, unplugging it and plugging it back in usually solves it. So if you aren't willing to sit through the early adopter headaches, I'd wait on getting a system.

My biggest fear for the long-term sustainability of this system is actually filling at breweries. I've filled two cartridges so far (Modern's LouDog and Civil Life's Rye Pale Ale) and a good fill requires dumping a lot of foam. The brewers have been kind enough not to charge for the excess yet, but if that can't be solved, I could see them getting annoyed with this and charging more than a typical growler refill price.

All in all, the thing looks awesome, and is a pretty fun alternative to a DIY keg system. I have a few friends that will probably buy one for themselves unless things really apart for me in the next couple months.
