I'm in San Diego now, I could have personally thanked him for flipping us off and getting shipped out of town for Ozzie.
Have the Cubs put Ernie Broglio in their HOF yet?
The trade worked out more for the Cardinals then the Padres, but as far as the players themselves both Templeton and Smith did fine in their new homes. Obviously Smith became a HOFer here but Templeton had a nice decade in SD which was good enough to be put into their franchise HOF.
Red Sox released RHP Justin Masterson.
Masterson's signing is one of the reasons former general manager Ben Cherington was pushed out the door and the righty's release is technically new president Dave Dombrowski's first move. He should be able to latch on elsewhere now that he can be had on the cheap.
The only thing he is doing well like the old Albert is hitting homeruns. Every single other number is still much lower than when he was in StL. I don't know that it's that he's forgotten how to take walks. I think he just has to start his swing earlier than he used to, and he's swinging at more pitches out of the zone because his swing has started before he can recognize it.
