Damn, that's awesome. Congrats on that.
Sounds like Christian Bale ca The Machinist thin.

I think I was 240 maybe my Sophomore year of high school. I hope to be there again someday but it's not happening very fast. Turns out I suck at losing weight. Only down about 10lbs this year and 40 lbs total since I decided to get in shape.

It depends on what program you're doing. If you're doing 3x5 sets with a 3 minutes in between sets (i.e. a strength program), you're not getting much cardio. If you're doing 5x10 with 1 minute breaks and supersets, you're gonna be pumping and sweating.

hmm, interesting. I do not take long breaks in between. I'll have to time myself tomorrow.
if you're taking short breaks and high rep sets and still not breaking a sweat then you're not lifting enough weight and should focus on a strength program which is not cardio but will help you get to your goals faster if you hate doing cardio

The first post I thought you were joking, but now I'm not sure.

Isn't 3M in the neighborhood of 6'4" and formerly 300+?

I'm not joking that he might want to think about slowing his roll at 168.

If he's 5'10" nevermind.

I'm only about 5'11.5". Which of course becomes 6'0 if anybody asks.

I'm hardly a sack of skin and bones, don't worry. Still got a stubborn bit of gut to work off, but I'm not starving myself or anything.

After my health crisis in April, I'm finally at the point where I've regained enough strength to start excercising again. Lost about 12 pounds during the ordeal and regained most of it after my appetite came back. Can only do cardio for half the time at half the speed as before (and lift half the weight) but eventually that will improve. They told me full recovery would take 3-6 months and I'm almost at the 3-month mark. I find myself a much more patient person these days.

Thanks, everyone. I'm excited, I'm on the verge of finally looking at myself in the mirror and saying, "Awriiiiight awright awright."

Still haven't been laid since back when wart still only had two kids, but, y'know, progress.

Congrats, TTM! I have similar stats to you - was up to 232 a few years, got down to ~190 give or take, but can't seem to get beyond that. How did you get those last 17 pounds off?
