What FIFA cares about is money. Brands like Adidas, Sony, VISA, Budweiser, McDonalds putting pressure on FIFA will only help.

Hope Solo is completely bat [expletive] abusively insane, and is probably a terrible person. That report is pretty damning. Then Stevens' DUI driving a soccer van with her even drunker in it? Egad. My high school buddy is a semi-pro referee, and has been a linesman for several women's soccer friendlies. He says she is an incredible C-word on-field, to her teammates, to the refs, and to anyone around her in general.
She's still my #1 sports crush.

Anyone else see the USMNT play against the Netherlands last week? Wow. We are starting to put some things together. Watch the replay on ESPN. Worth seeing.

The Netherlands and Germany matches are amazing. You have to watch both if you haven't seen them. I might just keep these on tape and show them to anyone who gives me crap about American soccer or the sport in general. The Americans played such an electric game, a style unlike what I'm used to seeing.
Unfreakingbelievable what this team has done in the last two matches. And last night the U-20's knocked out one of the cup favorites, Colombia, in the World Cup.

Yeah, the Germany game was really, really fun to watch. We were getting smoked through the first 30 minutes. Then we started to gain more posession and sneaked out a goal late in the first. Then made some half time adjustments and we just dominated the rest of the way. It's just so hard to believe... A USMNT without Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan, Jozy Altidore, or Tim Howard (not to mention Jones, Bedoya, Besler, Gonzalez, Cameron, Zusi, and other starters from last year's WC) went into Germany and beat an elite German squad. That's almost incomprehensible.
It was a very rough start to this new cycle, but since the Mexico match, the USMNT has played like one of the best in the world. How much better will this club be in 3 years when these kids have some experience under their belt.
Oh and Michael Bradley is just maybe the best American soccer player ever.
