Re: The Beer Thread
Evil Twin Imperial Stout (Biscotti Break is a good one.
Paid another visit to New Glarus. Their beer , yeah it is overrated. Still good though. Grumpy Troll brewpub in Mt Horeb WI. Only had time for one and liked it. Will go back.
The environment to drink the beer helps

Re: The Beer Thread
I like several of the Evil Twins. Nomader Weisse is good, Hipster Ale, Low Life Pils, are all core products year-round and I like them all.
I do think some of their cheeky stuff is pretty funny too. The ET guy (Jeppe) and his brother (Mikkel, of Mikkeller) do not get along, don't speak to one another. Mikkel likes making big crazy beers with lots of adjuncts. Jeppe decided to poke fun at his brother and made Bozo Beer, a 16% ABV Imperial Stout described as:

The 2nd bozo is Three Floyds, who Mikkeller collaborates with often. I had a taste of this, it's not something I'd want to drink (and it of course has a great rating on BA) but it was fun to taste. I thought it was kind of hilarious that he made this as a screw-you to his brother and to the beer nerds who freak out for high-ABV stouts with a lot of extra stuff tossed in.This is a really strong beer and we wanted to put it in small bottles but the two bozos were so fat they couldn't fit on the label. Enjoy this rich, ridiculous and screwball-ish Imperial Stout with hints of: molasses, lactose, chocolate, almond, hazelnut, vanilla bean, cinnamon, oak spiral, chili, marshmallow, muscovado sugar, chestnut and coffee. Made for Bozos.

Re: The Beer Thread
i think this inspired me as i bought a 6 pack of schlafly american IPA. drank them all last night and enjoyed it.Popeye_Card wrote:The craft beer movement has passed me by. Way too many IPA's on the market, which is a style I just don't really enjoy. Too many brewers trying to create some funky new blends with weird ingredients, most of which just suck. I wish more brewers would be like Schlafly.
but my conundrum now starts. i was definitely slow getting around this morning and i'm feeling laggy at work but it's friday and part of me wants beer after 5. i dont know what to do. plus, as much as i enjoy a beer, man do i always feel bloated and fat the next day.
so im stuck in that void where i want to taste the sweet nectar but dont want to get sick either.

Pilsners are kind of the white bread of beer. Generally boring. But comfort beer. Drinking Urban Chestnut Stammtisch. It is a good one
