Last year, he worked extensively with Peoria pitching coach Jason Simontacchi on developing his changeup.

Alex Reyes has 27 Ks in 15 innings so far this year. And 11 walks but hey, can't win them all

He needs to go to Double-A. Why stop walking people if it never costs any runs? That'll change at AA

On the flip side, he's only 20 and has a couple developmental things to work on--his change and his command--and it's easier to send him out there every five days and say "today you're gonna throw 90% fastballs, and work on locating them" in Palm Beach than it is in AA. If his command is erratic to the point that he's walking almost one hitter per inning at high-A there's no reason for him to be in AA.

Non-Cardinals...Carlos Correa is at AA this year after coming off that broken leg last year, and he's tearing it up early. Small sample size, but he's at .356/.431/.667 through 51 PA's. If he continues to do really well, I wonder if he doesn't get a late-season callup.

Agreed. High-A until at least the break. If he's not being challenged, then you could consider a promotion.

Still, something to really watch. Both the walk totals and his dominance.

A big part of the reason HOU is off to a good start is their SS, who is 283/389/522 right now. Their 2B is hitting 300. Wherever Correa would play is covered by a pretty darn productive player right now, so they have the luxury of not having to rush him.
