Blue Jays reassigned 1B Daric Barton to minor league camp.
This would seem to solidify Justin Smoak's status. Barton hit .250/.341/.389 with one home run and two doubles across 41 plate appearances this spring.

Guh.
John Axford left Rockies camp Tuesday after his two-year-old son was bit by a rattlesnake.
Jameson Axford got bit twice on the right foot and was taken to a Phoenix hospital, where he was given anti-venom. He is now in stable condition, but his toes may have to be amputated. Awful stuff.

Michael Blazek has made the Brewers' bullpen.
Blazek struck out 18 batters in 17 1/3 innings this spring to earn one of the final spots on Milwaukee's Opening Day roster. The 26-year-old right-hander will pitch in middle-to-long relief. He owns a 5.71 ERA in 18 career appearances at the major league level. Apr 2 - 12:43 PM

Rafael Furcal cut and then resigned to a minor league contract by Royals.

A day after the Royals cut him loose, veteran shortstop Rafael Furcal re-signed with the club Wednesday on a minor-league deal.
His release was said to be a procedural quirk. He is currently rehabbing a torn hamstring.

Twins purchased the contract of OF Shane Robinson from Triple-A Rochester.
Robinson made the Twins' Opening Day roster by going 13-for-46 (.283) in 17 games this spring in the Grapefruit League. The 30-year-old can play all around the outfield defensively, but he's a .231/.303/.308 career hitter at the major league level. There is no fantasy relevance here.

I assume that "procedural quirk" means "the by-product of surgery," and "release" means "pus".
