Red Sox released RHP Mitchell Boggs.
Boggs allowed five walks, two hits, and four earned runs in four innings this spring. He hasn't been an effective major league reliever since the 2012 season.

If Craig is healthy, I think it will take a lot longer than April for it to show in his numbers. He strikes me as a guy that will need a lot of ABs, and he won't get consistent playing time in Boston.Vidor wrote:You have to figure that if Craig looks decent in April he's getting moved.

I guess this write-up was a little off, then: http://www.albanyherald.com/news/2015/m ... to-make-a/Jocephus wrote:

Shelby Miller allowed just one run and one hit through six innings Sunday against the Pirates.
Miller opened the spring with a 108.00 ERA, so getting all of the way down to his current 3.44 is quite an accomplishment. He's allowed three runs over 18 innings in his last four starts.

Re: Former Cardinals Watch
If you're Boston and you want to showcase Craig for a trade, how do you do it? They're certainly in go-for-it mode this year. HanRam has LF. Betts has CF. Castillo is pushing to knock Victorino to the bench. There's still Daniel Nava, a fine above-league-average player and a starter or OF4 at worst on probably 90% of MLB teams.
It's the same as the Kris Bryant argument. The Red Sox would not be putting the best team out there to win by playing Craig. They'd be putting something out there that suits other interests of the team.
