Reds signed RHP Jason Marquis to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Marquis struggled in 2014 at the Triple-A level and had a rough 4.05 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and 72/68 K/BB ratio in 117 2/3 innings with the Padres in 2013. If he appears in a major league game for the Reds this summer, it'll likely be an emergency start. The 36-year-old right-hander hasn't been an effective big league pitcher since 2009.

According to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe, the Red Sox have spoken to Allen Craig about playing some third base.

I'm gonna make a really bold prediction and say that's not going to end well.

Perhaps they're figuring he can't trip over the 3B if he, himself, is the 3B.heyzeus wrote:According to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe, the Red Sox have spoken to Allen Craig about playing some third base.

Phillies signed INF Tyler Greene to a minor league contract.
Greene, 31, spent last season at the Triple-A level between the Braves and Padres and batted .298/.345/.446 with 10 home runs and 63 RBI over 126. He hasn't played in the majors since 2013 as a member of the White Sox and figures to serve as organizational depth. Jan 22 - 4:26 PM
