Re: Getting into shape
thats definitely valid jim, but i think our situations are a bit different, or they may very well be the same...but here's my reasoning:
i live in the city and my gym is downtown and the best time for me to go is after work, between 4:30-5, and anyone who has been to a gym knows that is probably the worst time to go, so by the time i get there, what is supposed to be a 45 minute work out turns into 1.5 hour workout because the entire metro population is in the weight room chompin the plates.
My membership for the YMCA includes: the pool, steam/sauna rooms, classes and use of any YMCA in the city. I should make use of all those things and every sunday i tell myself, this week will be the week i start swimming and taking spin classes. but im only lying to myself--it's still always dumbells, machines and benches.
With parking, i think it comes to $45/month and i really dont make good use of it because of the membership stupid hassle.
Any good workout can be accomplished with dumbbells and a bench and i think it would actually benefit me more if it was at home. I get what youre saying though...having a membership is in itself a motivating factor, but really i think im just throwing away money.
I mentioned earlier that i may start swimming in the mornings and perhaps if the weight room is less crowded, just start going then. Even then im not sure if its worth the money.
Really the thing i think i'd miss the most is all the fly honies in yoga pants.

Yeah, that's different. My place is a neighboorhood place, 5 minutes from where I live, on the way to work. Easy to get to, parking is easy, they even have free coffee. No hassles.

God I need new music. Muse helped for a long time (thanks whoever suggested that a year or so ago) but it is not working anymore.

Yep"If you take time off from alcohol, it's going to be beneficial for your liver from the reduction of fat," he told The Salt. "People always forget the amount of calories in alcohol, so if you take a month off, and you usually consume 20 units, you're going to lose weight and fat. It's a massive reduction in calories. "

I bet it would be easier to lay off booze if I had a pot card. Is that a step I want to take? Probs not.

In the context of my goals I think meth is a better choice.thrill wrote:I bet it would be easier to lay off booze if I had a pot card. Is that a step I want to take? Probs not.

They don't make cards for that but a 6 pack might be worth the risk.Michael wrote:In the context of my goals I think meth is a better choice.thrill wrote:I bet it would be easier to lay off booze if I had a pot card. Is that a step I want to take? Probs not.
