Stupid dumb ass mistakes - home edition
Taking down XMas stuff, and a Rube Goldberg sequence of one thing leading to another.
In that cleanup mode. I get something out of a closet. I see a big container metrumicil that's been there for god knows how long taking up space. I decide to get rid of it. Container is plastic (recyclable) and I reflexively empty the contents into our sink, turn water on and then the disposal, and whom whom wom...nothing. Disbelief I did that, completely stopped up the sink and pipes.
I spend twenty minutes digging out the sandy and expanding glop out of disposal. Still can't get flowage. the more I dig the more gunk. Hell if I'm going to take apart the pipes under the sink, because I suck at plumbing and that would require emptying out the supplies under there. So I take a plunger and try to bust that gunk lose.
After about 20 minutes of this, I do end having to take a part pipes under the sink.Clean that out. Of course I find metal part of this pipe contraption is messed up corroded (unrelated) and it's not going to go back on. Off to hardware store without a clue what to do. I buy some [expletive] that looks similar to what I just took off -bring it home and find that piece is too big.
So I hack off some pipe, put it back together and miraculously it works. [expletive] idiot.
Oh well - that corroded pipe probably was a problem waiting to happen.
move that bus!

My bro put some embers from his fire pit out by his wooden fence and it burnt down.

As a rule, I have to find someone else to blame it on....and that blame goes to my eldest who used to not eat veggies or fiber and needed that metamucil damn stuff.lukethedrifter wrote:you poured metamucil down your sink?? hahaha

I don't have the foggiest idea what Metrumucil is - that clogs sinks up?

Metamucil, a fiber supplement in a concentrated powdery form. Now I know that when you put it in water, it expands.
cleans human pipes only
Still can't believe I did that.

come to think of it, that metamucil [expletive] didn't work for the eldest either, hence it has sit in the closet for 5 years

Re: Stupid dumb ass mistakes - home edition
this is dumb mistake, for the length of time I let this go:
When heat/air ran thru our ducts, a pipe had been rattling like mad. Pipes were also rattling loudly when we ran washing machine.
A 5 minute job with zip ties onto pipe and rafters and at long last, (a few years since the old wire stabilizers must have came too loose) peace has been restored to the Freed household.
Move that bus.
