Rave: Mitchell and Ness products AND customer service
I have to pass the word on a great company - Mitchell and Ness. My wife and I decided to break the bank and get my son PaintItRed an authentic retro jersey that he loves - ended up settling on a 1963 Musial home jersey. I had never bought from that store, went to the web site on the Sunday before thanksgiving and purchased the jersey for $300. At the same time, I checked the box to receive newsletters.
06:00 on Monday I get an email from MN - 40% of jerseys. I contacted the company and explained what happened, not really sure what they would do. They did apply the 40%, no problems.
When the jersey arrived I was floored with the quality. It's absolutely beautiful, I would consider it a wearable work of art. When the 40% discount was gone, they sent me an alert saying they were still doing a 30% Black Friday sale. Given the 40% I saved on my son's jersey, I figured getting one for myself at 30% was like getting it for 70% off! How could I pass that up? '46 Schoendienst for myself.
The hardest part was putting mine in my closet hidden until Christmas, for fear of tipping my son to his gift.
During my search for these jerseys I also found another site - http://www.ebbets.com/category/Authenti ... ll-Jerseys. I've started a new hobby - I'm going to try to add 1/2 jerseys per year and build a collection of these things.
My son's jersey:

I can't remember if my Atlanta Crackers jersey is a M&N or EFC but both are great quality. Have a couple of retro football jerseys that I really love.

Pretty sure it's EFC luke. M+N does MLB, EFC does the Negro/Minor/Latin leagues. My plan is to alternate - get a Cardinal jersey, then an EFC, then a Cardinal, etc.. so half of the collection would be Cardinals and the other half other stuff.
I failed to mention I ended up calling M+N twice for various things and customer support was A++.

I think this mesh BP jersey is going to be my next purchase. I remember seeing it hanging in the team store last year at Busch. Compared to the rest of the Mitchell and Ness stuff, for $80 it seems like a bargain. Willie McGee in red is pretty tempting also.

I'd like a Curt Flood jersey. I've only found one from customthrowbackjerseys.com and I'm a little worried about the quality. Anyone have experience with these guys? Can I custom order anywhere?

That is Majestic brand rad - so they are an authorized manufacturer. But if you are more of a stickler for authenticity, look at the BOB logo. It's basically today's jersey with Flood printed on the back. I can't tell from those pictures what the material is, but I doubt it's the wool flannel and felt numbers (again, only important I guess if you are looking for authenticity). You might be able to contact M+N and ask them if they could make you a Flood jersey with the '67 jersey. When I called them I got a real person each time - Terrance - who was very helpful. Maybe they would charge you a few extra bucks for a custom, I don't know.
My older son was telling me a co-worker sent a link that he got for authentic Cardinal jerseys for like $39. When he looked at the BOB and kind of new something was right, it took him a second or two to see the script spelled CARDNILAS. Other than that he said it looked like a nice jersey. Actually might be worth the money as a joke.

I have a Mitchell & Ness hoodie and it's bloody lovely. It was an insanely good deal though when I got it.

I have no occasion to wear it today other than I'm sitting around the house catching up on my Baseball America magazine but I just put it on for the hell of it. Love this thing.

The closer I looked at it, the BOTB logo appears to be a patch. Much more obvious in the away version.jim wrote:That is Majestic brand rad - so they are an authorized manufacturer. So the search will continue. Thanks for the tips, jim.
